Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, living in Sao Paulo, Brazil for the last 10 years. Between these destinations, I lived in Porto, Portugal, getting my Ph.D in Mathematics, and seeing bits of the world.
Somewhere along the way I decided to teach myself the ins and outs of Python and Machine Learning. Which explains the last 7 years working in AI, Data Science and Machine Learning. Solving real world problems, given enough data.
A Brazilian Jujitsu brown belt, and boxing enthusiast. Mastering the arts one leg lock at a time. Avid reader, cook and brewer of alcohol, lover of philosophical discussions.
I have applied Machine Learning and Data Science to a range of areas. Finance, User Growth, Marketing, Geophysics, Optimal Machine Control. No problem is out of my reach.
I most recently used Predictive Models with Reinforcement Learning and Mathematics and Physics to build Optimal Machine Control Algorithms, for the mineral processing industry.
Past experience saw me delivering end-to-end business-data-model pipelines for Marketing and User Growth. In Marketing I was able to prescribe budgets via Machine Learning and Statistical Inference, and later run A/B tests to validate hypotheses. User Growth had me allocating cashback Incentives to maintain active users and entice new ones, using Machine Learning and Statistical Analysis.
